Otsu Country Club’s East Course is the more demanding counterpart to the West — tighter in places, with a layout that asks more from tee to green. For golfers who have played the West and want to test themselves further at the same club, the East provides a distinct and rewarding challenge.
The Course
The East Course is set on hillside terrain with tree-lined fairways that narrow the margin for error compared to the West. Approach play becomes more demanding when the fairway leaves you at awkward angles — course management is rewarded here, and players who think carefully about positioning will score better than those who simply reach for the driver.
The greens share the same high maintenance standard as the West Course, and the club facilities — clubhouse, dining, service — are consistent across both. Playing both courses on the same trip makes for a well-rounded Shiga golf experience.
