Kasama is known throughout Japan for its pottery kilns and chrysanthemum festival, but the surrounding hills offer something else worth knowing about: solid, well-maintained golf in terrain that rewards accuracy over distance. Ishioka West Country Club is one of the better courses in this part of Ibaraki.

The course winds through rolling hillside terrain with tree-lined fairways and consistent greens. The layout has enough variety to keep the round interesting — a mix of open and enclosed holes that uses the natural terrain well. Good value for a course this well-maintained.
