Oyama City sits on the Kanto plain at the southern tip of Tochigi, where the Watarase and Omoi rivers converge before flowing south. Hitonoya Country Club is set in this flat river plain landscape — a different environment from the hill courses further north in Tochigi, with its own particular quality of openness and space.
The Course
The course plays on flat terrain with water and bunkering used to create strategic interest in the absence of natural elevation. The fairways are generous in places, but the approach play requires precision.
