About Fly to Japan
Hi, I’m Takayuki — a Japan Airlines Boeing 787 First Officer based in Tokyo. I’ve been flying international routes for years, landing in airports across Asia, the Pacific, North America, and beyond.
When I’m not in the cockpit, I’m on the golf course. Japan has some of the world’s best — and most misunderstood — golf courses. That’s why I created Fly to Japan: to share what I’ve actually experienced as both a pilot and a golfer living in Japan.
What You’ll Find Here
- Golf course reviews — honest takes on courses across Japan, from budget-friendly options near Tokyo to resort-style escapes in Hokkaido and Okinawa
- After golf guides — where to eat, drink, and explore after your round in cities like Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, and more
- Travel tips — practical advice on getting around Japan, airport transfers, trains, and making the most of your trip
- A pilot’s perspective — honest, no-fluff insights from someone who flies into and out of Japan regularly
Who This Site Is For
This site is written primarily for foreign visitors — especially golf travelers from the US, Canada, Australia, and Europe — who want to experience Japan beyond the tourist trail. Whether it’s your first visit or your tenth, there’s always more to discover.
