The Bird Spring Course winds through forested hillside terrain with a design philosophy that favors positioning over power. Several holes require careful thought off the tee to set up the approach — the kind of design where a well-placed iron can leave a simpler second shot than a driver into trouble.
Playing both courses at Lake Forest Resort on the same trip — Century in the morning, Bird Spring in the afternoon, or across two days with an overnight stay — is one of the better 36-hole experiences available in this part of Kyoto Prefecture.
